Watched Taylor Lamont kill it at 132 before McKee crushed in his 138 finale. Would have liked to see them go at it again this year. I believe they met last year with McKee winning the Greco and Lamont winning the Freestyle. If I am wrong, I am sure the other forum readers will let me know.

The fact that MN guys can meet in the first consolation match is absurd. I get that they're separated the first two rounds, but that shouldn't include byes, in my opinion. Not just MN, but all states. People don't go to national tournaments to meet a kid from their section in the first couple of rounds.

What happened to Griffin Parrott???
He worked really hard and got very good and then committed to Purdue.

He's wrestling Drew Nicholson shortly - I don't expect it to be much of a match.

Track wrestling does a poop job seeding some of these weight classes. Venz vs Embree should have been a semi/finals match. There was countless other weights that were terrible. Marko vs the guy he lost early to should have never been wrestling.

It's not really seeding, but separation criteria (levels) based on previous USA wrestling results. I don't know what the actual algorithm is that they use, but it does make an effort to spread out the kids who have been successful in USA wrestling in the past. It doesn't seem to make any effort to evaluate potential match-ups.
