Track wrestling does a poop job seeding some of these weight classes. Venz vs Embree should have been a semi/finals match. There was countless other weights that were terrible. Marko vs the guy he lost early to should have never been wrestling.
It's not really seeding, but separation criteria (levels) based on previous USA wrestling results. I don't know what the actual algorithm is that they use, but it does make an effort to spread out the kids who have been successful in USA wrestling in the past. It doesn't seem to make any effort to evaluate potential match-ups.
Iowan is correct. And "potential match-up's" aren't part of it.

I've only paired in Fargo once, about 6-7 years ago- Trackwrestling is used as a mechanism to follow brackets and results, and is used to load the competitors information into the proper place. Then it spits out the bracket- BUT- I believe after the original bracket is made by track, the pairing officials can still go back in and move things around, as needed, using the criteria that Iowan spoke of......so I'm not sure if it's all Track, that decides the final bracket...

Samuel Grove (Moorhead, MN) is an AA at Junior Freestyle 195. Lost a tight match in the quarters, came back with a TF in the Rd of 12 to secure AA (He is wrestling for team ND).

Kerkvliet's only loss was 10-12 to the eventual champion in the 2nd round.

Edit: He also didn't give up a single point in 7 other matches.

Looks like Nick Lee took it to McKee. McKee recently beat him 14-4.

Mitch McKee has a chance for a little revenge as he wrestles Rudy Yates of IL. Yates beat Mitch at the Clash a couple years ago-considered a minor upset at the time, I believe.

And McKee prevails in a high-scoring affair, 18-12!

Looks like the Juniors have a shot to win it. Looking at the scores so far I think PA has 48, MN 44, and IL 40. Don't know about the other teams.

Nor sure who Jarrett Jacques is but this kid is having a hell of a tournament. He upset Marko early, pounded Lloyd, and upset a few other good wrestlers. I think he's wrestling for 3rd now. Has anyone ever heard of this kid? I browse a lot of tournaments and brackets and have never see him.

Penn: 50
Minn: 46

The problem is that Penn has two placement matches with penn v penn. That means they are guaranteed to have 52 points. Minn would have to win 7 more placement matches then they do. Tall order. But, not unheard of.

Omitting the penn v penn matches.....Minnesota has 10 placement matches and Penn has 12.
