Nice job.. heel dropped Mattsson to her back for the fall... Mattsson actually won the matchup last time they met.
Trounced the Swede, who was very tough. Love watching her work. She goes for the gold at 2pm CT.

Not sure why Pirozhkova didn't get 2 also before the break, but she's in a bit of a hole now down 3-1 and not generating much offense

Ranked #14 in the world coming in, Pirozhkova goes down in the semis 2-3.

She will have an opportunity to wrestle back for the bronze in repechage at 2pm

Gray is knocked out of the tournament... That's a bummer. She had beaten both the girl she lost to & the Canadian multiple times.

Gray lost that match going all out defense and wrestling not to lose. In the next round the Canadian kept attacking the whole time and knocked off Belarus pretty easily.

Alright - I'm confused now. Is Pirozhkova wrestling now on the mat that is blocked (mat A)? Track shows the match up but no one wrestling.

Watching on TV today, and they said something about Pirozhkova wrestling tonight? Right now the medal ceremony for Helen M (can't spell it) is on TV and it says it is live. Doubt there is any wrestling going on during the medals ceremony.

It seems like the Belarus game plan is to wrestle defensively and allow the passivity call to go against them. Then continue to wrestle with that same style, but the passivity tends to go against the person with the lead. The score ends up being tied. Since they scored last, they have the advantage and it forces their opponents to take risks, because they know they need to score to win.

It was on Xfinity Comcast Channel 68 live, at 3....I missed the match, turned it on just in time to see her taking a lap around the mat with our flag over her shoulders. Pirozhkova's match was on after the 53k medal ceremony....

Great match and huge upset win for Helen M.!!!! The Japanese woman was going for her 4th Olympic gold and has only lost twice in 14 years. The emotion of victory and defeat was incredible after this one.

Wish they would show this epic win on prime time tonight. Guess Americans just want to see sports were it's clear who wins..first across the finish line and fastest time.

The Americans are really set up well for the next cycle, aren't they? All 4 women that wrestled this Olympics are still pretty young, correct?

Morning report.

Dennis knew going in that he had to be the one to get the first takedown. His opponent was excellent from top position and it showed. Once he gave up the takedown it was 4 quick turns for the tech 10-0. Will watch to see if his opponent can pull an upset to get into the finals.

Burroughs controlled and won 8-3. Seems like he decided to save himself for the next match once he opened up a good lead.

Gets the Russian next, ranked #2 in the world. Basically a gold medal match in the quarters.

He is in the hole on Mat A. You can stream it at the link below for 30 minutes free (without putting in cable package info), so don't click on it until its closer to match time.

Dubov (BUL) who beat Dennis earlier just recorded a fall in the quarters and looked good doing it. If he wins his next one in the semis, that would put Dennis in the repechage for a chance at Bronze.

Burroughs is on deck on Mat A.

Those stoppages for blood time were very bad for Burroughs. He would have been able to wear him down but all that blood gave the Russian time to suck wind and get oxygen to those muscles.

Tough loss. Tough, tough loss.

Was it a head butt that started the bleeding. I was wondering why Jordan pushed him? I thought a boxing match was going to break out.

Burroughs didn't look right in his first match either. He looked like he's sick & didn't have the same quickness, explosiveness & gas tank he normally does.

This Olympic's has been rough on the USA (except Maroulis)
