East Ridge wrestling is an up and coming program with a bright future. East Ridge Athletic Association is currently seeking a youth wrestling head coach for the 2016-2017 wrestling season. The season begins on November 16, 2015 and concludes the first week in March (State Folkstyle Tournament). Practices are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in that time. PURPOSE OF JOB: To help build a successful wrestling program, and provide opportunities for all students to reach their full potential, while competing in a positive atmosphere, which adds to their total education, physical well-being, moral character, and social and mental development. BENEFITS: Get paid to do something you love. Compensation compares favorably to other schools and wrestling clubs. Secondly, we have staffed volunteers to handle all team logistics (Parents info, schedule, email communication, etc.). In addition, the ERAA Wrestling director will manage all parent issues. Leaving the coaches focus solely on the development of the kids in the wrestling room. Other benefits include ERAA Head Coaching apparel and access to funds for professional development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Execute the practice program provided by East Ridge Varsity Head Coach (Matt Everson). 2. Responsible for student supervision at practices and team meets. 3. Assume responsibility for constant care of equipment and inventory being used. 4. Maintain records of team accomplishments and arrange for the issuance of special awards. 5. Responsible for all aspects of: • Player development • Supervising an effective staff of assistant coaches 6. Delegates staff assignments to assistant coaches. 7. Establish performance goals for each season and evaluates them during and after the season. 8. Promote student athlete's accomplishments academically and athletically. 9. Must successfully complete the MN/USA Wrestling Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses. Successful candidates must be 21 years of age, possess a valid MN State driver's license, and be available for all practices and competitions. Practices are held after 5:30 PM, 2x a week on Tuesday & Thursday (3x a week leading us to major tournaments), for about two hours each day. Matches are held mostly on weekends. Experience coaching wrestling at the youth, club, high school, or college level is highly preferred qualification. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess, or obtain prior to the season, First Aid and CPR certifications.
